Danu's Quarter
Welcome Aboard!
Contents
Hello! Welcome to my quarter I am a new NETizen. I am a college student from Indonesia. Currently I am an Electrical Engineering Student on Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP) Semarang. I take Computer & Informatics Subjects. I like Anime very much my other interest is science fiction. Since lots of anime covers science fiction as well, my two interest gets along very well. Another Important things I like is Computer (it's technology) and Video Games (mainly for killing time). I also like to watch Star Trek, Star Wars, Babylon 5 and X-Files.
This quarter is hosted by Fortune City (thanks for It's FREE 6 MB, it's large compared to the one my ISP give me (only 500 k), so if you already have a homepage your host only give you a small amount of space I highly recommend you to move in Fortune City. The background music is Cruel Angel Thesis (I get it from Chaos Soundfont, You'll see it in my Hot List) from Neon Genesis Evangelion (I never see it because I can't find it here in Indonesia, but I heard this series are very good, I already have some background pictures of them and I like it). Pictures were taken from MS Office's Clip Art Gallery. This is my first attempt to settle on the NET. I'll try to update this quarter every month (I don't know if I can make it).
I build my computer February 1997 and it's still continuing to expand, however this is my current computer.
An ASUS P/I-XP55T2P4 w/ Intel Triton HX chipsets, 512kB RAM cache on board
Intel Pentium 166 w/ MMX technology
32 MB EDO DRAM
Sony 8X CD-ROM
Quantum Fireball 2.1 GB
NEC A700 17" Monitor
Diamond Stealth 3D 2000
Orchid Righteous 3D
Sound Blaster 32
Packard Bell Keyboard
Gravis Gamepad
BackUPS
Canon BJC-4200
Personally I think the best Anime Series ever is Macross (I've never see another stories told the way Macross'), another series worth to mention is Patlabor (This series are very good either, I never met any series that's make half an hour like an hour long).
I also like music (MIDI, MP3). If you have Sound Blaster 32, Sound Blaster AWE 32 or Sound Blaster AWE 64, I highly recommend you to upgrade your memory to 2 MB or 8 MB, the difference is very HUGE than plain old 512k. After you upgrade your Memory, download a Sound Bank by
CHAOS I think this is the BEST Sound Bank for AWE with 8 MB, if you only get 2 MB upgrade download FINEGM.ZIP on ftp://ftp.lysator.liu.se/pub/awe32/soundfonts/, this FTP site also have lots other sound bank as well. If you don't have Sound Blaster 32 or AWE series, I highly recommend you to download Yamaha SYXG-50 soft-synth (it's a trial version, but they also sell this synth). To Play MIDI Files, try Midi Plus, a freeware MIDI Player. For MP3 player, I think WinAmp Ver 1.20 is the best, you can download it HERE. Why I choose version 1.20 ? because Ver 1.40 and up sound prefer ver. 1.2). But, hey if you want the latest WinAmp, download it on http://winamp.lh.net/getit.html. another player worth to mention is MAPlayI also use some free cool utilities like
Cool Mouse, that's allow me to use my mouse's middle button to scroll up and down ala MS Word, Ejector to eject CD tray from Desktop, And of course Themes to use Themes without buying MS Plus! And Power Toys (I get this file from Microsoft's Web page so I think there won't be a legal problem). I also think Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0 is very cool, it give your desktop a facelift. You can get all of this free stuff (and many more) from http://www.freeware32.com/.Here are some of my favourite site:
